Owning Pseudomonas

April 13, 2017
In February, I had Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  Technically, I still have it.  Based on deterioration, it seems I've had it for a while.  Apparently gastro infections with the bacteria are rare, as I have only found one other person who has had it so far. So: this thread.  If I'm going to do all this legwork, hopefully it will benefit someone else in the long run.

Search social media for a group that handles this particular topic and you'll come up dry.  SIBO appears to be a popular diagnosis.  One other human had the stool test that I did, and apparently no one noticed at the time that it wasn't the SIBO-standard breath test.  That said: finding pseudomonas survivors is like finding water in the desert.

Here's what I've learned so far:
1.  This has a higher mortality rate than C. Diff
2.  It may trigger cancerous cell changes in the gut
3.  Pseudomonas eats collagen
4.  If the gravity of antibiotic resistance as a concept hasn't hit you yet, it will now.
5.  The medical industry gives no fuck about you
6.  I am immunoglobulin deficient so hopefully this doesn't kill me.
